License

These terms cover ParleML, including its container image, the parleml-ml4 and parleml-mli packages, and their documentation (the "Software"). "Publisher" means the copyright owner that publishes the Software under the ParleML name. "You" includes the organisation you act for. By installing or using the Software, you accept these terms.

Use. The Publisher grants you a free, worldwide, non-exclusive license to install, copy and use the Software for any personal or commercial purpose, within your organisation and by contractors working for it. You may use it to deliver work and services to your clients.

Adapting it. You may change its configuration, add or edit skills, rules, hooks and plugins, connect your own tools and models, and build images with the extension recipe the Publisher publishes, for your own use as permitted above.

Restrictions. Except as these terms allow, you may not:

  • distribute, publish, mirror or otherwise make the Software available outside your organisation;
  • sell, rent, lease or sublicense it, or offer it to others as a hosted or managed service, paid or free;
  • modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where applicable law permits this despite this restriction;
  • use the Software or its documentation to build or offer a competing product or service, to copy its features, interface or documentation, or to train AI models;
  • remove or change copyright, license or attribution notices.

Scoring packages. You may use, distribute and sell scoring packages and models exported from the Software, build them into your products, and charge for services that run them. The "Runtime" is the unchanged parleml-ml4 and parleml-mli packages those exports need. You and anyone who receives your exports may copy and redistribute the Runtime, solely to run them, with these terms and the notices that come with it. This does not extend to the ParleML platform itself.

Your data and results. Your data, models, predictions and documents are yours. The Publisher claims no rights in them and receives none of them: the Software sends nothing home.

Responsible use. Models and explanations can be wrong. You are responsible for checking results before relying on them, for human review of decisions about people, and for complying with the laws that apply to your use, including data-protection, anti-discrimination and AI rules.

Third parties. Third-party components remain under their own licenses, listed in the notices that ship with the Software, and nothing here limits the rights those licenses give you. External services you connect, including AI providers, remain subject to their own terms and fees.

No warranty. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Liability. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PUBLISHER IS NOT LIABLE FOR DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE, WHETHER DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL, UNDER CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE. WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, THE PUBLISHER'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IS LIMITED TO USD 50. This does not apply to fraud, intentional misconduct, or liability that cannot legally be limited. Any warranties or obligations you offer to others are yours alone.

Indemnity. To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify the Publisher against third-party claims arising from your use of the Software, your data, or the models, results and decisions you produce with it.

Ending. These terms end automatically if you breach them; you must then stop using the Software and delete your copies. The sections on your data, responsible use, warranty, liability and indemnity continue after they end.

Versions. These terms apply to the version they accompany, and later terms do not change rights already granted for that version. The Publisher may set different terms for future versions and has no obligation to support, update or keep providing the Software.

General. The ParleML name and logo are not licensed to you. The Publisher may use any feedback you send, and may transfer these terms and its rights, for example to a company or a successor. These terms are governed by the laws of the Publisher's place of establishment, whose courts have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law gives you other rights. You must comply with export-control and sanctions laws. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in force. These terms are the entire agreement about the Software.
